Title of the lecture
Renewable fuels as necessary component for a GHG-neutral mobility
Dr. Olaf Toedter received his graduation in electrical engineering from the University of the Saarland. He holds a PhD focused on corona discharges for coating applications.
In 1999, he started a postdoctoral position at Old Dominion University Norfolk, Virginia, USA
From 2000 to 2012, Dr. Toedter was appointed to the company BERU AG and became in 2009 VP Engineering of this company which changed to BorgWarner Beru Systems in between.
From 2012 he switched to Gustav Wahler GmbH as head of Engineering
Since 2015, he is director on new technologies and ignition Systems at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
Since 2018 till now, Dr. Toedter leads the Project “reFuels – rethinking Fuels” at the same institute.
The talk will address reFuels, their synthesis opportunities, a view on RED II (Renewable energy Directive II), their capability to stay in standard fuel norms, their raw emissions, their emission potential and their greenhouse gas effects
